THEMING YOUR ANDROID LIKE STOCK

Can’t you just take that crappy software designed by your Smartphone Company? You are also missing stock feel on your Smartphone? Today you will get medicine for all your pains.  Unfortunately Nexus devices are not available in every country although you can buy them online through various e-shopping sites but there is always the risk of warranty. Secondly, sometimes Nexus devices might not tempt some people and they rather prefer other powerful devices in the market like Galaxy S4, Samsung Note-2 or handsome HTC One. These devices have powerful hardware and delver smooth performance but I personally don’t like their terrible software which just diminishes the feel of android and contains hell lot of useless  apps which rarely anyone use. I know many of you also hate it. 

                As I myself is a big fan of Google’s stock android, so I thought of putting up an article on that as many of might also like to have stock presence on your devices too. Below are some steps to guide you through all steps.. We must thanks to all app developers for developing these great apps for people like us.

STEP-1: PICKING APPROPRIATE LAUNCHER

Launchers are like boon to the android system as using them you can easily customize your device in any way. Although there are many launchers available on play store but I personally recommend using Nova or Apex Launcher. The reason is that these launchers are immensely customizable and you can access and change almost everything with these launchers. Both the launchers are available for free on the play store. The free version of the launchers provides you enough features for customizations but can purchase paid version too to unlock some additional tweaks.

Choose the Default One 

After installing, press your home key and you will be prompted to choose your default home. You just need to choose the Nova launcher as your default home. See the image above.

STEP-2: JELLY BEAN ICONS

Icons highly contribute to your look feel of the device. Picking up the appropriate icon pack for your Smartphone gives it a fresh feel. If you have chosen to go with Nova launcher, then you are almost done with this step too as nova launcher itself includes the stock icons.

To change your icons, go to Nova setting, tap on look and feel then choose the Icon Theme option. Then it will list all the icon packs installed and it also includes the stock jelly bean pack. Just select that option. For apex users, there is icons pack for on play store called JELLY BEAN APEX, just install it and follow the above steps.

I am sure that just after these two steps you would have got some feel of stock already. But don’t settle down too early. There is a lot more.   

STEP-3: CUSTOMIZING LOCK SCREEN

Lock screen is the first and foremost thing which everyone notices when they use your device. Usually the lock screen apps are very buggy and not that smooth and stable. Don’t panic. Techoaster doesn't like their users suffering from pain. I myself use Holo locker which enables you customizing your lock screen in any way you want and has in-built jelly bean lock screen. It available on play store for free. Alternatively you can use widget Locker Lock screen which is also amazing and offers numerous customization than just having Jelly Bean lock screen. But you need to pay some bugs for it as it is paid.

ADDITIONAL CUSTOMIZATIONS:

You can easily do the above three steps and you will get stock feel in no time. But here are few more apps that you can use to get deep into stock. 

JELLY BEAN LIVE WALLPAPER: 

Just this app to get beautiful jelly bean live wallpaper running on your android device. You can also get whole bunch of static wallpapers also which comes default in stock android from many apps from the play store.

JELLY BEAN CLOCK:

Although it doesn't really matter which clock you use but stock freaks doesn't want to miss a brick. The analog clock of stock Belly Bean is very simple but still its presence gives stylish looks to your home screen.

KEYBOARD: 

However, I personally don’t like the stock keyboard of Google. Rather you should go for Swiftkey or Swype which has bunch of different themes for keyboard and supports many different languages. They also support gesture typing and it works smoothly on my Nexus 4. Still if you have the curiosity, Google recently released it on the play store.
