HTC DESIRE 500 LAUNCHED

Earlier this month we saw the announcement of HTC One Mini from the Korean company which is going to be released in August. HTC seems to be competing with Samsung in quick launching for mid range devices. But HTC hasn't been really able to bring devices for low end consumers and Samsung has really kept an eye on that and almost all the low end android consumers belong to Samsung. So HTC today launched another smartphone, HTC Desire 500, another addition under the name of desire series.

The Specifications of the device includes:

• 4.3 inch with WVGA display with 480 x 800 pixels resolution. Not much impressive for this much price.                                                                                                                                                            
• 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor with android 4.2(Jelly Bean) out of the box with HTC's latest Sense 5. Well we expect at least this much from the a mid range smartphone.                                              
• Comes with 1 GB of RAM coupled with 4 GB of on-board storage expandable upto 64 GB with external micro SD card slot. Again disappointment. We are fine with RAM capacity but expected at least 8 GB of on-board storage.                                                                                                                   
• Powered by 18,00 mAH battery which is expected to give talk time of around 18 hours. Well we haven't tested this but if it lived up to its expectations then its surely impressive for an android powered device.                                                                                                                                                            
• Back camera of 8 MP with LED flash and 1.6 MP front camera and can record videos up to 720p. Well yes, its good from a mid range handset.                                                                                               
• Misses boom sound but has Beats audio enhancement with front dual speakers. I would not comment on this one as it doesn't really matter to me that much. No offense.

The company has launched the device currently in Taiwan only and is priced approximately NT$11,900. which is approximately Rs. 24,000. Well it doesn't seems to be price fairly as compared to Samsung's previous releases galaxy deices which includes Galaxy Quattro, Galaxy grand and Galaxy Core. All these have similar specs compared to HTC Desire 500 but are priced way below than this one.
                 Well we don't know when exactly will it be available in India and will be launched or not. But if it is launched at the same price in India too than it might not be able to get its position in the market as there the many other smartphones in similar specs with Desire 500 like Mircomax Canvas 4, Xolo 600 and many others.
